Locations

Choosing a location can sometimes seem complicated, but really, what it all boils down to is, it's the background setting for your photography session. It sets the tone for your vision, and the look/vibe you're hoping to achieve, but remember, you are the main focus. The following locations are my tried and true spots that guarantee beautiful lighting and gorgeous backgrounds to showcase what really matters; You, your family, or your growing family.

Ojai Meadow - Loma Trailhead

Located on Loma Drive in Ojai, this little gem has a ton of golden grassy hills, with mountain views in the background. It also has large oak trees for a more woodsy feel. Slight trek required at the beginning to get to the view. Grass can be bright green in the Spring, and golden in the late summer/early fall.

Ventura River Preserve - Ojai

One of Ojai's most beautiful trail systems - a gorgeous area with options to stay close to parking, or for the adventurous - to hike in towards the water hole (however, water is not available year round), there is a spot for everyone. The trails are relatively flat and kid friendly, with mountain views all around.

Ojai Meadow Preserve - Nordhoff

Located behind Nordhoff High School in Ojai, this location offers flat trails (stroller friendly) with large eucalyptus trees, golden grass, and lots of scenic nooks with gorgeous light. Grass can be bright green in the Spring, and golden in the late summer/early fall.

Carpinteria Bluffs

This location offers a meadow as well as a private beach with bluffs for photos. One of the most beautiful locations in my personal opinion. Getting to the beach requires a 1/4 mile walk down a dirt path, but is so worth it once you're there.

Alice Keck Park - Santa Barbara

Lush and green with flowers and trees and a small pond area - this location offers a ton of possibilities in a small space that is easy access and requires little walking.

Butterfly Beach - Santa Barbara/Montecito

A gorgeous beach with beautiful bluffs and rocks to add a little mood and drama to your session.

At times, the marine layer can come in and create a very mystical look.

Sperling Preserve - Santa Barbara/Goleta

Another wonderful location that offers more variety to your gallery. With beautiful bluffs and meadows up top with trees and grassy nooks,

and a gorgeous beach down below if you want to put your toes in the sand for a couple shots.

Marina Park - Ventura

This beach location offers something a little extra with the golden grassy areas with amazing views of Ventura in the background. Easy access from parking too!

Ventura Pier

The iconic Ventura Pier. This place holds so many memories and special moments for local families, it is a very popular beach location for a session. The iconic Pier in the background and the ocean right there. A Perfect place to watch the sunset with loved ones.

Loon Point - Summerland

This gorgeous beach offers the best of both worlds, a nice private beach on one side, and large bluffs and rocks on the other.

Easy parking, and a light trek in on a dirt trail.

Carpinteria State Beach

This little beach has a lot to offer in one spot. Obviously you have the beach, but at low tide you have some awesome rocks to add to the photos.

Also... you also have a ton of little woodsy nooks along the bluffs above to get some great variety.

Piedra Blanca

This one is for the adventurous. A moderate hike in, with a couple water crossings (depending on the time of year) with the Los Padres forest and truly breathtaking rock formations as your backdrop. If you're up for a hike AND a shoot, this one is truly stunning and worth the trek!
